Brief facts about stirling motor:
A Stirling engine is a heat engine that is operated by the cyclic expansion and contraction of air or other gas by exposing it to different temperatures, resulting in a net conversion of heat energy to mechanical work. More specifically, the Stirling engine is a closed-cycle regenerative heat engine, with a permanent gaseous working fluid. Closed-cycle, in this context, means a thermodynamic system in which the working fluid is permanently contained within the system. Regenerative describes the use of a specific type of internal heat exchanger and thermal store, known as the regenerator. Strictly speaking, the inclusion of the regenerator is what differentiates a Stirling engine from other closed-cycle hot air engines. In the Stirling engine, a working fluid is heated by energy supplied from outside the engine's interior space. As the fluid expands, mechanical work is extracted by a piston, which is coupled to a displacer.
Bore - In a piston engine, the bore is the diameter of each cylinder.
Cost of electricity by source - Different methods of electricity generation can incur a variety of different costs, which can be divided into three general categories: 1 wholesale costs, or all costs paid by utilities associated with acquiring and distributing electricity to consumers, 2 retail costs paid by consumers, and 3...
Distributed generation - Distributed generation, also distributed energy, on-site generation, or district/decentralized energy, is electrical generation and storage performed by a variety of small, grid-connected or distribution system-connected devices referred to as distributed energy resources.
John Ericsson - John Ericsson was a Swedish-American inventor. He was active in England and the United States.
Stroke - In the context of an internal combustion engine, the term stroke has the following related meanings: • A phase of the engine's cycle, during which the piston travels from top to bottom or vice versa. • The type of power cycle used by a piston engine.
Thermomechanical generator - The Harwell TMG Stirling engine, an abbreviation for "Thermo-Mechanical Generator", was invented in 1967 by E. H. Cooke-Yarborough at the Harwell Labs of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority.
